Contest Announcement

We're kicking off our new Author Expressions blog with an awesome prize. The winner’s name will be drawn at random from those who leave a comment. Members of our blog group, of course, are not eligible to win. The prize is a set of jewelry (example to the right) designed by a glass artisan. Wait! If a man wins, there is a whole list from which to choose: gorgeous wine stoppers, letter openers, and other things.
The contest for this prize ends next Friday, April 23, but I won’t be drawing until Monday. I’ll be at Pikes’ Peak Writers Conference, where I hope to learn from all the workshops and faculty. They have Cold Read sessions with agents and editors. That should be fun.
Just today I learned that I won a copy of a book I’ve wanted to read. I have never won anything, except a bottle of champagne one New Year’s Eve, and I don’t care for champagne. So winning this book made my day.
Most of my future blogs will probably be about a historical figure or event, because I love history.

Hi, Joyce,

Lovely jewelry! But I can't ethically draw for it since I'm also a member of the authorexpressions group myself.

I love the artwork you provided for our blog. Oh, and congrats on winning the book. Tiffany (our Five Star Editor) informed me that I will soon have the ARCs for my Five Star Expressions Regency romance, TEA LEAVES AND TAROT CARDS, which will be published in August.

If this is a sample of our contest prizes, we should have a ton of entries! I'm going to post on Facebook and my other blog about the goodies. Our Expressions books are primarily about women and the lives we lead: emotionally, physically, mentally. Advertising the blog on women's sites might generate some readers. I'm off to do it!

Jacqueline: Do you have the cover yet? Here I was thinking I'd get my cover followed shortly by my ARCS. My book is released October. It's going to be a long summer.

Rebecca: Thanks for putting out the word on Facebook. I have to edit my blog right now, to say explicitly that the jewelry won't go to any blog member. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi, Joyce,

My ARCs arrived on Friday afternoon. I'm going to read a copy through just to see if there are any errors. Hopefully not, but you never know. You likely have two more months before yours arrive. I really like the cover art and hope it attracts reviewers. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I can't wait to post your cover picture on the sidebar, with all the other covers. It will go under Contributors.

Hi, Joyce. I'll be at Pikes Peak as well. As another Five Star Expressions author, I'll be checking in to see what's going on. Good luck with the blog.

Truly a work of art - both the blog and the jewelry!

Hi Ann: Glad you stopped by. Gee, with a family and horses, sounds like you have a busy life. How do you find time to read?

Joyce Elson Moore said...

B.J. I see you write YA. That's something I'd like to try, but I know there are a lot of parameters. I need some workshops first! This will be my first Pikes Peak. Long way from Fla., so I hope it's as good as I've heard. Glad you stopped by!

Hi Bethany: I see you teach yoga. I love my yoga, and I could give a testimonial on how good it is for you. Thanks for stopping by our blog. More goodies to come!
