My problem is I start off thinking a book is a stand alone and it's only when I decide to write a second book in the series do I realize I should have put something together with the first book. One of these days (I hope), I'll learn.Marishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14714052867941990380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3105320592980752653.post-30993683532888460742016-12-10T14:37:42.093-05:002016-12-10T14:37:42.093-05:00Thanks for stopping by, Susan. I hope you'll return again.

I do think having a rough outline to work from is important. It saves much frustration because you have a sense of where the story is headed. This really is necessary with mystery fiction. Of course, you can make major changes after your first or second draft, but it helps to have a sense of where your story is going. The key for me is not putting in so many details so that the excitement gets lost--I tend to get bored otherwise, and that's the end of the story. :-) Sati Chockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15984778414015053820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3105320592980752653.post-32937621213488015692016-12-09T16:54:05.252-05:002016-12-09T16:54:05.252-05:00Great insights and advice Jacquie!
